JV Action:
Bellevue West JV tournament
The JV team took third place at the Belleview West
Tournament on Saturday, February 7th. All the
wrestlers wrestled really tough finishing off the
season on a very positive note.

Preparing for Districts

Milliard North Booster Club members created sign to be
placed on the front doors of the Varisity wrestlers to show
their support and fire them up for districts. See more

Metro Duals Tournament

Millard North went 3 - 0 at the Metro Dual Tournament at
Benson.
Individually, the Mustangs went 32 - 7 on the day. Results:
1st round: Millard North 74 Omaha South 6, 2nd
round: Millard North 49 Bellevue West 18, 3rd round:
Millard North 44 Papillion LaVista 30
Norfolk Tournament
The Mustangs showed improvement at the Norfolk invitational
on Saturday, crowning 3 champions and medaling 9 of 11
wrestlers.
The team was again without several of their wrestlers due to
illness and injury.

KWAA have invited us to work 2 tables at their
National Tournament (www.wrestlingtournament.org),
to be held
at Papillion LaVista South High School on Sunday, 03/01/09
from
8 AM to approx. 5 PM. They would like us to have at least 2
adults
and 3 students to cover each table. The Mustang Wrestling
Booster Club will receive
$350 per table for our efforts. If you can volunteer
for this
great fundraising opportunity (even if just a for a

The Mustangs hobbled their way through Metros to finish 10th
in the 16 team field. As the team continues to battle
their way through injuries and illness, a loaded metro field
offered little mercy.

Ralston Dual

The Mustangs traveled to Ralston on Tuesday and despite
continuing injuries and illness, they defeated the Ralston
Rams 48 to 21. Millard North continues to be without
Jake Zarlingo, Colin Heskin, Scott Quandahl and Austin
Edmonds, due to injury. They were also missing Gil Allgood
and Alex Hodson due to illness and Connor McMillin who was
out of town for a funeral.

Millard West Invitational

The Mustangs fare well at a loaded Millard West Invite. In a
near preview of the state tournament, Millard North places 9
individuals in the top 8 and put 2 in the finals to place
7th out of 16 teams.

KEARNEY CATHOLIC DUALS
Due to the weather cancellation at South Sioux City, the
varsity had the opportunity to join the JV team at the
Kearney Catholic Dual tournament last Saturday. The Mustang
Varsity team went 5 - 0, and claimed the championship over
top ten ranked Sargent-Burwell in class C. The Mustang JV
went 2 - 3 and finished 7th in the all varsity tourney.
JV News: Wymore Tournament
The JV wrestlers participated in the Varsity meet at
Wymore Southern and finished in first place. Aron Wehr 1st,
Danny Vaughan 1st, Taylor Rothanzl 4th, Matt Coufal 1st,
Nick Bellus 2nd, Mark McGloin 2nd, Joe Broich 1st, Tyler
Welborn 2nd.
Millard Duals

The Mustangs battled injuries, slick roads, and two tough
dual teams in the annual Millard Public School Duals.
Both Millard West and Millard South were ranked in the top
10 by the NSWCA. Yet, despite having many of our starters
out, I thought we competed very well. Brett Becker stood
out for MN, going 2 - 0 with 2 pins. - Weylon White.

It was a tough weekend for the injury depleted Mustangs as
they battled 5 of the top 10 the top schools in the state at
the East-West Dual Classic held at Omaha Burke. MN
finished 1 - 4 in duals and finished 5th out of 6 teams.

Metro Youth HOLIDAY WRESTLING TOURNAMENTS

Once again the Booster club sponsored TWO wrestling
tournaments on SUNDAY, NOV. 30, 2008 at Millard North High
School: The Holiday Novice Tournament and the
24th Annual Metro Youth Wrestling Classic.

This past week, The Millard North Wrestlers placed 10 of 14
wrestlers in the season's opening tournament held at Omaha
North High School. Despite some injuries, the team was
still able to finish in the top 5. Sophomore Chase Neumann
won the award for most falls in the least amount of time.

Youth Club!
Millard North is pleased to announce the beginning of the
Mustang Wrestling Club. The club will develop
wrestlers who are in kindergarten through 8th grade. Details can be found on the club flier.
2008-09 Schedule

High Amplitude Camp

Several Millard North wrestlers participated in the Annual
High-Amplitude camp held at Elkhorn HS during the week of
June 9th. The camp includes all three Millard High
Schools and Elkhorn. Camp Counselors this year were
University of Nebraska All-Americans Paul Donahoe, Brandon
Browne, and Jordan Burroughs. Camp award winners for
Millard North were Dalton Ridder, Matt Lenagh,

Mizzou Team Camp

The Millard North contingency had a strong showing at the
University of Missouri Team Camp. Twelve Millard North
wrestlers traveled to Columbia and the team finished in 5th
place out of twenty teams in the dual competition. Several
impressive performances were turned in including: Austin
Edmonds (12-0, 1st in Gold Division), Chase Neumann
(11-1, 1st in Gold Division), John Gilbert
(11-1, 2nd in Gold Division), Gil Allgood
(10-2, 2nd in Gold Division), Garrett Allen
(10-2, 2nd in Gold Division), Dillon Heckendorn
(11-2, 3rd in Gold Division), Scott Quandahl
wrestled well and finished 5th in the Gold Division.
Impressive performances in the Silver Division were champs
Taylor Vaiskunas and Matt Lenagh.
Other wrestlers who participated and despite some injuries,
put their best foot forward and showed a commitment toward
improving themselves and their team were Brett
Becker, Tyler Welborn, and Tony
